In a world of acronyms and abbreviations, most of us no matter how much we may be lacking in the technology world, have come to recognize a few of them. OMG stands for "Oh my gosh" and the popular LOL for "Laugh out loud". Possibly less well known but equally important is the acronym EAP. EAP stands for Employee Assistance Program. What is an Employee Assistance Program? An EAP is a benefit your employer has chosen to offer to its employees in order to assist them with maintaining or repairing work/life balance. Your employer recognizes that you are it's most valuable resource and as such wants to provide a resource to assist you and your family members with the struggles and challenges of every day life.
At The InSight Program, we work in collaboration with you to help you through molehills or mountains that occur in your life. At times, you may find yourself struggling to balance the demands of work with the demands of your personal life. We can help with that! You may find that the bliss you and your spouse, partner or significant other once had seems to have disappeared...we can help with that! Do you feel as though you have lost your motivation and are feeling down and out more than usual? We can help with that! If you are concerned about possible substance abuse for yourself or a loved one, we are here for that too! From times of depression, grief, life transition, goal setting, parenting, relationship difficulties, and workplace struggles, the team at InSight is here to help. BTW (by the way), we can even assist you with legal and financial concerns. Many of the employers we partner with have chosen to add this specialty program to our menu of services that we provide to their employees.
Our services are private and confidential. Unless you are required to make an appointment with us by your employer, no one at work will know that you have utilized our services. And even if your supervisor or human resource professional requires that you contact us for services, the details of your sessions still remain confidential. In this situation, if you are referred to InSight it is important to remember we are here as a resource for you to help straighten things out at work and get everyone back on the same page. Attending sessions at InSight is not a punishment...rather it is a sign that your employer so strongly values you as part of the team that they are willing to extend every possible resource to support your success!
At InSight we work very hard to reduce the need to utilize outside referral sources. If you have taken the time out of your schedule to reach out to us, we will do everything in our power to help you find resolution to the challenges weighing on you when you come in. In the rare case that a referral is necessary, we work hard to develop relationships with trusted colleagues in the community and will walk through the process with you to ensure a smooth transition.
There are a couple of other things that you should know about InSight...our counseling services are provided to you at NO CHARGE! Your employer has retained our services by contract and in doing so pays up front at the beginning of every contract year. This protects your confidentiality and is an incentive to utilize our services! It is also important that you are aware that our services are available not only to you as an employee, but also to your immediate family members (those living in your household and dependents up to and including age 26). That's right! If your significant other or one of your children needs counseling, they are entitled to services through The InSight Program. Let's say Grandma is living with you and is looking for someone to talk to regarding the adjustment of moving in with one of her children, we can help with that!
There is never an issue "too small" for counseling. If there is something on your mind or heart, we are here to help. Instead of waiting for the volcano to erupt, take the rumbles as a sign that it's time to utilize this benefit. We offer appointment times in the morning, afternoon and evening. We can usually offer you available times the next day and sometimes even the same day!
